Today, one of the Devolo Powerline adapters that we have at home died (flashing orange power light = dead).
Amazingly, they have a 3 year warranty on them, and they have been running since i got them back in November 2009, so I’ll be claiming on that, though for once, I bear no ill will to a failed gadget.
It made me think. I’ve never (till now) had any problems with them, despite them running 24hrs a day, 365 days a year, and we’ve still got 2 others running.
That is what technology should be like: reliable, and not cause stress.

I have had four Devolo Powerplugs. One cooked itself (smell of burning till I disconnected it), one just died (no lights at all) and one stopped working today (orange power light flashing). I am now left with one working example and nothing to connect to. Back to wireless connection for now.
A 75% failure rate so I’ll never buy these again.

Wow, sounds like you got the short end of the bell curve there.
I’ve got 3 others that have been working with no issues, pretty much permanently, since 2009. The other one, replaced in 2011 has joined them, and no issues since.
